Will Someone Take the Vontaze Burfict Bait

The fall from grace has continued for Vontaze Burfict who after the 2010 College Football season was a consensus first round prospect who did not even have one visit during the pre-draft process (as confirmed by Burfict himself in an interview with mockingthedraft.com). The physical linebacker has been plagued throughout his career with bad decisions On the football field. Burfict has become villanized, despite the fact that he has not once ever been in trouble with the law. Burfict also looked out of shape during the pre-draft process and came off as immature in the eyes of many.

Is it possible that the rumors could be true and the talented linebacker prospect will go undrafted? Despite all of his trouble, Burfict is still a good fooball player. Even though he wasn’t great this year ,he’s still a big and physical specimen. Burfict had 5 sacks from the middle linebacker position this year which is impressive. He’s long and mean and won’t shy away from contact at the N.F.L. level.

Burfict is one of the top players remaining on my board, a guy I kept around the 100 overall mark. With each passing pick Burfict could be given more and more motivation. And this is a guy who can really be a terrific steal if he can figure it all out. The question remains will someone take the bait-Burfict’s immense talent-and draft him despite all of the warning signs around him. And how far must he wait to find out that answer.
