In this 2015 NFL Draft scouting report, we feature Alabama Crimson Tide strong safety Landon Collins. The Crimson Tide hasn’t done too well sending corners to the NFL lately but Collins is a safety. He’s a part of that physical brand of college football that they are known for.

He was projected to go in the top 10 at first but he has since slid down into the middle of the first round. However, his projection slide wasn’t the result of the NFL personnel world liking him less. Safety just isn’t a valued position and as players that play more valued positions’ stock improves, Collins is the first guy they pass.

But he does project to be a great player in the NFL and that’s why he’s still in the first round, unusual for safeties.
