Dallas Cowboys Select Byron Jones at No. 27

The Dallas Cowboys have selected cornerback Byron Jones with the No. 27 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. On NFL Network a couple of days ago, owner Jerry Jones said, “I would say we do need to help the defense as a must, by hook or crook,’’ So it is no surprise that the Cowboys selected this freak of an athlete corner in the first round.

Jones isn’t just a workout warrior from the combine, he actually has some really good tape. As a matter of fact, he would have go higher if he didn’t miss final five games of 2014 with shoulder surgery. Along with his athleticism, Jones is extremely smart and instinctive on the field with the ability to anticipate the route that’s coming.

His 4.3 40 shows up on tape in the form of recovery speed to make up for any type of separation to make a play on the ball. At 6’1″, 200 pounds, Jones doesn’t make business decisions as he as a reliable tackler. He’s also a team captain that’s willing to play hurt so he will get the repect of his veteran teammates right away.
