As many of you already know, I’m not the biggest fan of the quarterbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft. So I thought the Cleveland Browns signed Robert Griffin III so they didn’t have to take one at No. 2 overall. They could simply take the best player on the board and get a quarterback in the second round to develop.

But it turns out that RGIII is draft insurance for the Browns in case they can’t get their quarterback. And according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, their quarterback is Carson Wentz. Cole reported that multiple sources from the Browns organization are concerned about a team trading into the No. 1 spot to pick him.

So the Browns have the best-player-available strategy in place just in case they can’t get Wentz, leaving Jared Goff out of the plans. Well, I have to admit that I have warmed up to Wentz since watching him throw darts at his Pro Day on Thursday. No matter where he comes from, that arm talent and pro style system background compels a team to take him early.

So now, Browns fans are left to wonder if another team will indeed jump the Browns in the draft. But at least they know what plan A and plan B when it come to the 2016 NFL Draft next month. That is if you believe what Cole reported from what his sources are telling him.

People in the NFL personnel departments are known to lie to the media from time to time.
