Seattle Seahawks Select Germain Ifedi to add some much needed talent on the offensive line.

The Seahawks grab Germain Ifedi of Texas A&M after trading back with the Denver Broncos. I’m not sure if Ifedi will play inside or outside but I’m glad the Seahawks at least addressed the need. By the way, how could you not love that celebration once he was picked? I’m sure they were very tempted to take a defensive tackle like Jarran Reed or A’Shawn Robinson but they went with need instead. I would not be surprised if the Seahawks used their next two or even three picks on offensive line, and they should. Ifedi is still a very raw prospect at will be best if used as a guard.

Ifedi is a very big man standing at 6’6 324 lbs and has outstanding length. The A&M product has enough athleticism to play tackle but would really excel as a guard. The best thing that I like about Ifedi is that he plays nasty and as an offensive lineman, that’s what you need. You can’t teach nastiness. All of Ifedi’s negatives are coachable so that’s a good thing!

The Seahawks have the 25th pick in the second round 56th overall. I believe the Seahawks should select another offensive lineman here. Some lineman that may be available are Nick Martin of Notre Dame, Joshua Garnett of Stanford, and Le’Raven Clark of Texas Tech. Again after the first round anything can happen. It’s possible that guys like Jason Spriggs of Indiana and Cody Whitehair of Kansas State are around at #56. I doubt the Seahawks trade up because they really need the picks.

The pick I would have went with: Germain Ifedi OT/OG Texas A&M
