Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins may have a shot afterall!

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill was just starting to play like the team wanted him to. And it has led to the Dolphins winning seven of their last eight games, landing just outside the playoff picture. TheN Sunday, he sustained an injury to his knee.

Many believed Tannehill suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals. That would be the ultimate blow to the Dolphins, who had made up so much ground this year. But they were relieved to find that he simply sprained his ACL and MCL.

NFL Network’s Courtney Fallon reported that the Dolphins will evaluate Tannehill from week to week but he could be back by Week 17 or the playoffs according to sources. Tannehill was hit low by Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell while stepping into a throw Sunday.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the league is reviewing the hit. But that doesn’t help the Dolphins make the playoffs. The team needs to make it through the next two games against the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

Then in Week 17, the Dolphins have the game for it all against the New England Patriots. Right now, the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos are fighting the Dolphins for that final wildcard spot. They will all have pretty tough schedules coming up too.

The challenge of the next couple of games will now fall on the shoulders of career backup Matt Moore. But a chance is a chance and the Dolphins have one now since that Tannehill doesn’t need surgery. The AFC playoff picture is spicing up these days.
