When looking at the Carolina Panthers current roster, there are a couple of positions that could benefit from improvement.  Some of those lie on the offensive side, some on the defensive.   Overall, the roster has a lot of talent, and looks to improve on a 6-10 record in 2016.   However, when you look deeper, there may be some issues that aren’t as apparent to the casual fan.

Dave Gettleman, the General Manager for the Carolina Panthers, probably hasn’t stopped analyzing the roster and evaluating ways to provide Head Coach Ron Rivera with the best bevy of talent that he can.  After all, his job never stops, as the work to improve an NFL Franchise knows no breaks.

Today, I aim to step into the shows of DG himself, to analyze across the likes of Cam Newton and the offense, to the “hog mollies” and intimidating front seven.  The Panthers hold a great opportunity to not only add impressive depth in the 2017 NFL Draft, but to add influential playmakers….but where?

At first glance, many might think it has to be on offense, after watching a much more stagnant performance than the pure form witnessed in 2015’s Super Bowl run.

However, could it be that the true need is on defense?

One that has performed very consistently in Rivera’s tenure?

Let’s take a deeper look.
