The 2017 NFL Draft is just around the corner and with it should come the end of this year’s quarterback carousel.

There are still a few pieces of the quarterback puzzle to be figured out this offseason. The quarterback carousel is still in motion with players such as Jimmy Garoppolo, A.J. McCarron, Colin Kaepernick, Jay Cutler and the NFL prospects still potentially finding new homes.

The Jimmy Garoppolo situation continues to be an interesting story line with the Cleveland Browns reportedly ready to make another run. Cleveland has a ton of draft picks in the next two drafts and thus the ammunition needed to strike a deal.

However, the amount of picks they’d have to surrender is reportedly extremely high. They may realistically need to include multiple 1st round picks and maybe the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Browns could turn to another trade option in the Cincinnati Bengals A.J. McCarron. He’s seen as someone with starter potential. However, Cleveland might have to over pay to land McCarron with the Bengals being inside the same division.

It seems like the easiest way for a team like the Browns to address their quarterback need is by attacking the draft. This includes highly-touted prospects like Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky and Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer.

Another option for the Browns is for them to stick with the players on their roster such as Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler.

The other teams that could potentially make a move at the quarterback position include the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. These franchises are more likely to use the draft to bolster the position.

Cutler and Kaepernick appear to be on the outside looking in as far as landing a starting job is concerned. Both players may need to wait and see if an injury occurs or settle for an obvious backup job.
