The Cleveland Browns are rumored to be considering taking Mitchell Trubisky over Myles Garrett in the draft. But not even the Browns can be that stupid.

One of the best things about the days leading to the draft is that there are infinite possibilities. At the same time the worst thing about the days leading to the draft are those infinite possibilities. These days, those possibilities include QB Mitch Trubisky going No. 1 overall.

He’s not even the best QB in a bad class of QBs with the least amount of starting experience. And the Cleveland Browns are actually considering him of an absolute freak in Myles Garrett. If that were to happen, history would be repeating itself exactly 10 years later.

In 2007, WR Calvin Johnson was the freak and Jamarcus Russell was the QB with one year as a starter. But the Raiders reached for Russell in one of the worst drafts to get a QB. I’m not saying Trubisky would be that bad because Russell did all he could to be that bad.

But the Browns would skip over a once-in-a-generation talent for a QB that’s not ready to play yet. As bad as the QB class is, you can get a guy just as good as Trubisky in Round 2. So I refuse to mock Trubisky over Garrett here at No. 1 overall.
