The Arizona Cardinals finished last season at 7-8-1.  Second in the NFC West but out of the playoffs.  The Cardinals had less than ten wins in a season for the first time in three years under Bruce Arians.  So this is an important camp for the Cardinals.

The teams that finished under them last season, the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers are rebuilding with new head coaches.  So time is of the essence for the Cardinals and they need to capitalize on the advantage they have over them now.

Offensive stars like quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald are getting closer to end of their careers, so the championship window on this group is closing.

The Cardinals chose to let some key starters leave in free agency.  So Bruce Arians must use this training camp to get his young players acclimated to his system and plug-in some veterans to make an impact and try to catch the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.
