The Chicago Bears are kicking things off by having their rookies report to camp today which includes several players ready to make an immediate impact.

All eyes are obviously going to be on No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky when the rookies report to the Chicago Bears camp. The Bears have said that their plans are to have Trubisky spend the year on the bench learning behind Mike Glennon.

However, the fan base won’t be as patience and will be looking for any sign that Trubisky is ready to start earlier in his career.

The bigger thing to watch during training camp and preseason is how well Trubisky adjusts to the level of competition. It’ll be important to see that the moment and league isn’t too big for him. Limiting the wide-eyed looks will key.

Trubisky might be the most watched Bears rookie, but there are others primed to make a quicker impact. The biggest of that group is tight end Adam Shaheen who shined during OTAs. Shaheen is a massive individual who is still learning the position.

However, he has enough natural talent to see the field early in his career. Safety Eddie Jackson should also get a chance to see action early in his rookie season. He will battle the likes of Adrian Amos, Harold Jones-Quartey and Deon Bush to start opposite Quintin Demps.

Jackson also possesses good return skills and could see action as both a kickoff or punt returner.

Chicago drafted running back Tarik Cohen because of his versatility. He’s a shifty runner who is as dangerous as a pass catcher as he is a runner. Look for Cohen to have an opportunity to earn a role as a 3rd-down back.

Offensive lineman, Jordan Morgan, will be more of a depth player with the upside to eventually develop into a contributor. However, his first training camp will show just how close he is to earning a significant role in the offense.
