The Miami Dolphins have their rookies reporting to camp this week and are hoping several of them can make an immediate impact.

There’s plenty of excitement surrounding this Miami Dolphins football team as they are coming off a very successful season. Head coach Adam Gase has the franchise heading in the right direction and ready to compete with division rival New England Patriots.

The thought is that several members of the rookie class can help keep the momentum headed in the right direction.

More from With the First Pick

Miami’s top pick, Charles Harris, will be counted on to increase the defense’s pass rush. He will work in a rotation with Cameron Wake, Andre Branch and William Hayes. Harris’ speed off the edge should help him make an immediate impact.

Linebacker Raekwon McMillan will battle Koa Misi for one of the linebacker spots. Misi has had his ups and downs, but played well last season.

Miami had some issues at cornerback last year which is why there’s a good chance Cordrea Tankersley cracks the rotation. Tankersley is a bigger corner who possess excellent ball skills. His ability to create turnovers should earn him some early playing time.

The physical Isaac Asiata could be a surprise starter after training camp. His ability to open running lanes fits the Dolphins plan of attack. He will be competing against Jermon Bushrod, Ted Larsen and Anthony Steen for two guard spots.

Davon Godchaux and Vincent Taylor will serve as depth along the defensive line. Both feature some upside, but need time to develop.

Wide receiver Isaiah Ford faces an uphill battle to crack the roster. The Dolphins have plenty of depth at wide receiver. They not only have established starters but also have other intriguing youngsters.

Overall, the Dolphins can expect to get some production from this talented rookie class. They may be more dangerous than most of realize.
