Five 2019 NFL Draft first-round picks remain unsigned with training camp quickly approaching.

NFL training camps are set to kick off at the end of this month, and with the start of summer’s practices comes the hope that this year’s rookie class will contribute to success for their teams around the league.

In order to do so, they have to be under contract.

The Oakland Raiders signed RB Josh Jacobs to his rookie deal Wednesday and now have all three of their first-round picks locked and loaded for camp, but there are still five teams waiting for their rookie prize to put pen to paper.

The remaining unsigned first-rounders are:

Nick Bosa (49ers)

Quinnen Williams (Jets)

Devin White (Buccaneers)

Daniel Jones (Giants)

Brian Burns (Panthers)

The one that sticks out from this list is Burns, who was selected 16th overall by the Panthers. The players who were picked in front and behind him have already signed their contracts and with the rookie wage scale that’s currently in place, there isn’t much left to figure out in that contract negotiation.

The other four unsigned players aren’t all that surprising. Once Bosa signs his contract, the rest of the top-6 will fall in place. No agent wants to rush into a deal only to find out later that a player picked later in the draft (after their client) received a better contract. Hence, these signings should end up rattling off in order.

That said, Bosa’s brother (Joey) was part of a lengthy holdout with the Chargers a few years ago that lasted well into training camp. If he’s taking the same stance his older brother did, then 49ers fans may be waiting a bit longer than expected for their No. 2 overall pick to be in camp.
