The Hall of Fame game kicked off preseason last week, but which players beginning their careers in 2019 have the best shot at enshrinement in Canton?

Football made its return for 2019 last week with the Hall of Fame game, which was followed by the enshrinement ceremony as the latest group of inductees celebrated their immortalization in Canton.

Being inducted into the Hall is a dream of most who enter the league and there is enough talent in this rookie class to suggest the 2019 draft could supply numerous Hall of Famers.

But which players have the best shot at making it to Canton? Here we look at five of the most likely contenders.

Kyler Murray

Whether Murray has the ability to replicate his incredible season as a starter at Oklahoma in the NFL is one of the great unknowns of the coming campaign.

Projecting a 5’10” quarterback with only one season of starting experience in college under his belt to have a shot at making it to Canton is bold, to say the least. However, there is history on the side of the dual-threat talent to suggest he could be in the conversation if he succeeds.

It is debatable whether Fran Tarkenton and Steve Young would be considered ‘dual-threat’ to the level that Murray is, but they both have busts in the Hall after doing plenty of damage with their legs as well as their arms.

Randall Cunningham put up numerous MVP caliber seasons in his career while Michael Vick was at one point arguably the face of the league. It is a lofty challenge but if Murray can excel to a similar degree for longer than they did then will have a strong shot at a gold jacket when what should be a fascinating pro career wraps up.
