Who does not love more quarterback rumors? We have more today with the New England Patriots involved after they watched Tom Brady win another championship without them. Not only that, but we have news surrounding a top wide receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft class, as well as another chance for a former first round cornerback.

Patriots in on multiple QB rumors

After a season with Cam Newton under center, the Patriots are back in the market to find their Tom Brady replacement at quarterback. As the carousel has been going around this offseason around the league, the Patriots have been mentioned in regards to two different quarterbacks in trade talks.

More from With the First Pick

First, surrounding Carson Wentz, the Patriots are not expected to be a “serious suitor” for the former second overall pick. However, another second overall pick is on their radar as the Las Vegas Raiders are looking to move Marcus Mariota to a quarterback-needy team. Much cheaper and with less risk involved, the Patriots may take the chance on him as a bridge option until Mr. Right stumbles into their path.

Rondale Moore jumps through the roof

One of the receivers being pushed to the backburner this season has been Purdue’s Rondale Moore. After tearing his ACL in 2019, Moore initially opted out before returning to the field for the Boilermakers. He returned to the program, appearing in three games, racking up 270 yards on 35 catches. He scored just one touchdown on the season.

However, as he is training for the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine, a video has been released showing the explosive 5-foot-9 and 180 pound wide receiver hitting a whopping 42 inches on his vertical jump at the training facility. Something tells me that Moore will be back on your radar by the time the combine rolls back around.

DeAndre Baker gets another chance

What a whirlwind of a year it was for former first round pick DeAndre Baker. Just a year after the New York Giants made him a top-32 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Baker was caught up with Seattle cornerback Quinton Dunbar in an armed robbery case. It took months to clear his name, but in the meantime he landed his pink slip from the Giants.

After his name cleared, however, the Kansas City Chiefs scooped Baker up and stashed him on the practice squad. The Chiefs have now signed Baker to a future deal as he recovers from a broken femur; let’s hope this is the beginning of a fresh start for Baker.
