First Impression
The Redskins have had him in for minicamp and workouts and he’s made a good first impression on all. Mike Jones of the Washington Post said, “Scherff did a good job of staying in front of pass rushers, and he got his hands on defenders and seemed to move them where he wanted during run blocking. He even pancaked a couple.”
Defensive end Jason Hatcher told CBS 24/7 Sports, “I think that was, excuse my French, I think that was a hell of a pick. He’s going to help us out a lot. He’s a very aggressive and violent person. He’s nasty. I like that. He’s a rookie but just watching him, man, he’s really gained my respect. He loves to play the game of football. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s going to do this year.”
From the reactions here, is looks like Scherff is the player the Redskins thought he was and they need. All the nasty boy stuff is what his reputation has always been and he hasn’t disappointed yet. Sure, it is just minicamp but you only get to make a first impression once and he made his a few days ago.
