Early Indications

All early indications are the Buccaneers got their main by picking Winston in the first round. Buccaneers G.M. Jason Licht couldn’t be any happier with what he did with the 2015 No. 1 overall pick. He’s done nothing but gush over Winston in the media since his first day at rookie minicamp.

He told USA Today,  “I told my wife, Blair, ‘I gave him an A,’ I thought it was a great day. He knew the offense already. He wasn’t overwhelmed. He was even a little ahead of the game. He was already trying to change protections. The coaches were like, ‘Wait up. Hold on.’ You’re right. But the other guys aren’t there yet.”‘

Jackson told ESPN about Winston, “He’s very dynamic. He puts the touch on it when he needs to, but he will sling it. He will fire it across when he knows it’s a tight window. He’s only going to continue to get better. You see his competitiveness. He doesn’t want to miss a throw. He comes out here every day and works on his craft.”
