Derek Carr

QB Derek Carr is now set to make another big jump to Year 3 after throwing 53 TDs in his first two years. Carr’s first-two-year totals have him second behind only Dan Marino all time. Carr made his jump to Year 2 by improving his deep ball accuracy and his performance against the blitz.

As a result, Carr threw for almost 4,000 yards, 32 TDs, and a quarterback rating of 91.1. And with another year of experience under his belt, he figures to make another jump in 2016. He’ll have the offensive line, running game, and a healthy Cooper and Walford to help him too.

Many had something to say about Carr down the stretch of the season because his production fell off. But much of that was because of the injury to Cooper as Crabtree couldn’t get open on No. 1 corners. The Raiders also made moves to make the team deeper at the receiver position.

Speedsters Marvin Hall and Max McCaffrey were added this offseason for Carr to get the ball down the field even more in 2016. Play action should be a bigger part of the passing game with the running game now there. So Carr should end up with around 4,400 yards and 38 TDs in 2016.
