DE. Tennessee. Derek Barnette. 4. player. 87. Much of the Carolina Panthers’ Super Bowl hangover is being blamed on the loss of CB Josh Norman. They forget the quarterback Cam Newton isn’t having his best year. Even on the defense, the Panthers loss more than just Norman.
They also lost Charles Tillman, the CB on the other side, to retirement. And if you look at the pass-rush, it’s nowhere near what it was last year. DEs Kony Ealy and Charles Johnson have a half a sack between them.
<div class=

Ealy is still very young so he can fix whatever is wrong with him and come out to fight. But Johnson is 10 years in so it might be time to replace him. The perfect man for the job is Derek Barnette right here at No. 4 overall.

Barnette gets off the ball well and has an array of hand-slapping techniques to slap hands down. He’s also strong at the point of attack and has a relentless motor. This pick can bring back the pass-rush the Panthers have been known for.
