CB. Ohio State. Malik Hooker. 7. player. 13. Former Ohio State S Malik Hooker is injured so he couldn’t undergo the physical testing this offseason. But if you watch enough tape on him, you’ll see that he doesn’t need it, he’s that dynamic. He is a single-high S that has the range to make plays all over the back end of the secondary.
He was so outstanding in 2016, he started drawing comparisons to legendary S Ed Reed. Then there were others that gave him a little less of an evaluation, comparing him to Earl Thomas. Either way, the guy has instincts to go with his edge, making him an absolute ball hawk.

The team that gets him will be happy to have a turnover machine from the day he arrives. The Los Angeles Chargers are set to be that happy team right here at No. 7 overall. He’s the perfect fit for the scheme DC Gus Bradley will be bringing to the Chargers this year.

Under Bradley, the team will be running a lot of cover-1 and cover-3 so his range will be useful. The Chargers already have a fierce front-seven and their CBs will be back healthy. With Philip Rivers, Melvin Gordon and company on offense, they’re in the fight for a playoff spot.
