14. player. 54. Philadelphia Eagles fans can hoot and holler all they want to about Carson Wentz but he has to prove himself. He was okay in 2017, not a rookie sensation behind a great O-line and with a good defense. Wentz didn’t have best WR corps but is just as much to blame for the struggles of the passing game.
So both he and the Eagles’ WR corps have to get better to compete in the NFC East in 2017. The team has already taken steps toward that, acquiring Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith in free agency this offseason. But that isn’t enough as Jeffrey is prone to injury and hasn’t been great year in and year out.
<div class=. WR. Western Michigan. Corey Davis

One 1,000-yard season in six doesn’t exactly make Smith a world-beater at WR either. The Eagles should definitely add one to this mix to give Wentz as much help as he can get this year. Corey Davis would be a good draft pick for them right here at No. 14 overall with what he brings.

Jeffery and Smith are deep threats, that’s one thing we know they will be when they get on the field. A route-runner that can work the short to intermediate part of the passing game on third down is needed. After adding Davis to the WR corps, we’ll see who and what Wentz really is as a QB.
