2017 NFL Mock Draft: Myles Garrett Remains No. 1
I’m trying to figure out why the Raiders haven’t brought back ILB Perry Riley Jr. yet. Jarrad Davis would be a good pick here at No. 24 overall but McKenzie doesn’t value ILBs like that. I see McKenzie going with S Obi Melifonwu to help out everywhere in the secondary.
At 6’4″, 225 pounds, he is an athletic freak with the skills to cover TEs and bigger WRs. That would allow 2015 first-round pick Karl Joseph to move to FS and the Raiders can shed Reggie Nelson’s salary. And it would give the Raiders a defense that could go deep in the playoffs.

The Oakland Raiders were explosive on offense in 2016 and will be even more so in 2017. WR Cordarrelle Patterson and TE Jared Cook will join WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree to light it up. Then of course, we’re still waiting to see if RB Marshawn Lynch will add even more.
On defense, CB Sean Smith started the 2016 season off horribly but came back to play at a high level. He and fellow CB David Amerson should come back with good years in 2017 with a new CB coach. DE Mario Edwards Jr. is healthy now and should bounce back to help OLB Khalil Mack rush the passer.
