player. 10. The Houston Texans lost Bouye to the Jaguars in free agency but the defense will still be great. J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Whitney Mercilus are a lot to deal with on the front-seven. The secondary is still pretty good too with Johnathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson and company.

The Texans are also loaded on offense with WR1 DeAndre Hopkins and deep threat Will Fuller. They can also balance things out with a good running game, featuring RB Lamar Miller. This Texans team has everything it takes to be a true contender except for a QB.

The Tony Romo thing didn’t work out so they have to roll with Tom Savage this year. And they’re not doing a great job of acting like they believe he’ll get them to the promised land. So here at No. 25 overall, the Texans will draft former Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes.

At 6’3″, 225 pounds, Mahomes is a good athlete and has a rocket arm that he’s not afraid to use. He’ll likely need a year of coaching and development as he’s too much of a gunslinger. Once head coach Bill O’Brien coaches some of that out of him, the Texans would be ready to contend.
. QB. Texas Tech. Pat Mahomes. 25
