Prediction: North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky will be the only quarterback selected in the top-20 picks.

There’s no denying the fact that NFL teams push quarterback prospects up their boards, but not nearly as much as the media. In the past we’ve seen the media overhype quarterbacks like Jimmy Clauson, Ryan Nassib and Geno Smith.

At one point or another each of those quarterbacks were see as early 1st round picks. This draft seems to be following a similar pattern where many have mid-round grades on the quarterbacks but they are being mocked as early 1st rounders.

The one exception could be Mitch Trubisky because it appears that the Cleveland Browns do see him as a legitimate franchise quarterback. This doesn’t mean they will take him with the No. 1 pick or that they will trade up to land his services.

It’s entirely possible that as the draft unfolds we see that the love for the quarterbacks in this class was overblown. We shouldn’t rule out the possibility that Cleveland is able to sit tight at No. 12 and still land Trubisky.

This shows just how unpredictable the 2017 NFL Draft process has been. There just isn’t a lot of concrete information to pinpoint who is targeting who.
