. chicago bears. 3. team. 57. The Chicago Bears made the worst pick of the 2017 NFL Draft at No. 2 overall. This is the kind of move that’s going get HC John Fox and eventually GM Ryan Pace fired. Trubisky isn’t ready to play anytime soon and Fox is in the third year of a four-year contract.
The Bears swore by Mike Glennon, gave him all that money and they choose a guy that’s not ready. Pace must not like Fox because Fox needs someone to help him win now. A perennial contenders with a great roster and time to develop Trubisky should have picked him.

But the Bears, one pick behind the 49ers, gave them their No. 3, 67, 111, and a 2018 third-rounder. One-year college starters don’t succeed in the NFL often and Trubisky did nothing to show he’s an exception. Cam Newton can run and he’s 240 pounds so leave those comparisons alone.

Second-round TE Adam Shaheen will probably start and everyone else looks like depth right now. Shaheen is a good player but not enough to make up for the first-round mistake. They gave up too many picks for a guy the 49ers probably wouldn’t have picked and isn’t ready to play.
. — F
