Sleepers

The Chicago Bears 2017 Draft results features several players that could be seen as sleepers. This is what happens when you take three players who played outside the main division. However, Adam Shaheen has the most upside out of those three prospects.

More from With the First Pick

Shaheen really started to make a move up draft boards following the Combine. His size and speed combination really wowed a lot of scouts and decision makers. It was obvious everyone saw a player with untapped potential.

He also got a boost because he was able to put together some dominating performances this past year. The Bears are one of several teams that looked at his tape and saw someone capable of creating mismatches from his tight end position.

Shaheen is going to feel a lot of pressure to perform from day one. This has to do with the fact the Bears used a 2nd-round pick to bring him into the mix. The fact that Chicago’s 1st round pick, Mitch Trubisky, isn’t expected to see the field at all in his rookie year.

Chicago fans will want to see some sort of immediate production from this draft class and they will look to their new tight end.

It’ll be interesting to see if Shaheen has the ability to quickly adjust to the level in competition and a more complex play book.
