It’s hard to look at the Chicago Bears draft class and see a ton of positives. Each of their picks comes with more question marks than answers. The decision to target Mitch Trubisky was the biggest risk, but not the only one Chicago made on draft weekend.

In an ideal world, Trubisky will sit for a majority of the season and learn about being a pro. He would also show some real progress during practice. Enough progress for the Bears to feel comfortable handing him the starting job for the 2018 season.
However, it’s more likely that this team is out of playoff contention by the middle of the season and force Trubisky into action.
The same situation appears to be on track for tight end Adam Shaheen. He’s a very raw player who needs time to develop. However, Chicago needs him to make a quick transition and make an early impact.
At this point, it’s hard to say Shaheen is anywhere close to seeing significant action. The same is true for running back Tarik Cohen and guard Jordan Morgan.
Chicago’s savior could be Eddie Jackson who would’ve come off the board much earlier if he had not been dealing with an injury. Jackson has the talent and upside to be an immediate starter. How he performs could help this draft grade significantly.
