20. Cleveland Browns (via Hou)- Luke Falk, QB, Washington State

Luke Falk was my top rated quarterback for the 2017 NFL Draft until he decided to return for another year at Washington State. He’s an extremely talented signal caller who has put up insane numbers. There will be detractors because he plays for Mike Leach, but Falk is different than the typical Leach quarterback.

Falk has a big arm capable of attack all parts of the field. He shows terrific accuracy and overall ball placement. The biggest thing that jumps out is that he can read both sides of the field. He can go through progressions and not solely rely on spacing.

The Cleveland Browns are still searching for their franchise quarterback. They appear to have some hope that Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler or DeShone Kizer can seize the job this year.

However, it’s more likely that the Browns will find their long-term quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft. There are more talented quarterbacks than Falk available, but they went off the board much earlier.

Cleveland will need to land a top-3 pick in order to get someone like Wyoming’s Josh Allen, USC’s Sam Darnold or UCLA’s Josh Rosen. They could also use their draft capital to orchestrate a trade.
