Pick 39. Neville Gallimore. Round 2. DT. player. 815. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

While not as bad as the offensive line in Cleveland, the defensive line has not been much better. Free agent addition Sheldon Richardson has been on the upswing since the Buffalo game, which has helped, but third year defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi has not made the jump this year that many thought that he would.

Not to mention, there is literally no depth behind Richardson and Ogunjobi, as Devaroe Lawrence, Daniel Ekuale, and whomever else the Browns have been rotating in along the defensive line have caused a steep drop off in play. The Browns need to get to a place where they can take their starting defensive tackles off the field without feeling compromised up front; this is why the went so hard after veteran tackles Gerald McCoy and Mike Daniels a year ago, missing on both of them.

Here with the 39th overall pick in the draft, the Browns are able to land Oklahoma defensive tackle and standout Neville Gallimore. Named to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic’s (subscription required) preseason freak list, Gallimore has taken a massive stride forward in his senior season with the Sooners.

Reportedly, Gallimore can run a 4.8 second 40 yard dash while measuring in at 6-2 and 300 pounds; this tremendous athleticism would benefit the Browns dearly and allow for Ogunjobi and Richardson to get a breath of fresh air. Welcome to Cleveland, Neville Gallimore, your services are desperately needed.
