Baun’s Biography

A high school quarterback from Milwaukee, Zach Baun committed to the University of Wisconsin back in 2014, and signed his letter of intent in 2015. He was a three sport athlete in high school, also playing basketball and track, already showing a prowess of athleticism and versatility well before he arrived in Camp Randall.

His senior year of high school, Baun won multiple awards in the state of Wisconsin, including the Coaches Association Offensive Player of the Year and State Quarterback of the Year. He was also apart of a state championship basketball team and placed in both the 100 and 200 meter dash at the state track meet as a senior. You can see the speed off the edge from Baun, and now we know why.

Baun intended to enroll early at Wisconsin to get on the field as a true freshman, but broke his foot, forcing him to redshirt. While Baun’s career did not start out or jumpstart as quickly as he and the Badgers had hoped, he has finally turned a corner in 2019 and looks to be a versatile asset for the lucky NFL team that takes him.

Baun also played the bass in orchestra, is majoring in retail and consumer behavior, and is a summer camp counselor.
