Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is an intriguing player who could become a great professional player if he can stay healthy.
Before the 2019 college football season started, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa was going to be the best QB in the country. He had already proven himself to be a big time talent and player and figured to be one of the nation’s brightest stars. In the first half of the year, that was certainly the case. However, more injuries, including a serious hip injury ended his season.

As the draft gets close, medical evaluations will be the biggest key for Tua. There’s a good chance he doesn’t get to workout prior to the selection process, so his tape will have to suffice. If doctors give him a clean bill of health, there are some who still think he’s a better pro prospect than even Burrow. Dolphins fans, in particular, have been all in on Tua from the start.
"I’m not sure why you’re surprised. most dolphins fans still prefer tua AFTER his season-ending injury over joe burrow. not saying I agree, but miami is in prime position to land the QB many believed they wanted from day one. why give up a top-10 CB and multiple picks for burrow? — josh houtz (@houtz)"
Tua is a great prospect for sure. His arm is stronger than Burrow’s, and he is also a very accurate thrower. He has a lightning-quick release and has played well on the biggest stages. Without that injury, would there be more debate? If he gets a completely clean report from doctors, and especially if he’s able to work out pre-draft, he could make his case.
