2020 NFL Draft: Receivers dominate end-of-season mock draft
K’Lavon Chaisson was a dominant force in the Peach Bowl and showed a leadership quality that helped the Tigers punch its ticket to New Orleans. With another performance like that in the National Championship Sugar Bowl, Chaisson’s name will skyrocket. The second tier of pass rushers is full of underperforming players and projects. Chaisson, with his insane athleticism, has an opportunity to peel his name out from those critical descriptions and join the first tier with Young and Epenesa.
In Miami, Chaisson won’t feel the weight of the pressure of immediate success. It’s a long way to success for the Dolphins. But Chaisson is an excellent building block choice on the edge.
There’s something about Shaun Wade that is screaming “I’m your kinda guy, Mike Mayock.” Wade, who primarily fits in as a slot corner, is cut from the same cloth as last year’s first-round Raiders: tough, intelligent players from exceptional college programs. The Raiders could easily trade back to select Wade, seeing as he isn’t the consensus number two cornerback. But last year’s example of Clelin Ferrell at four is proof that Mayock is a GM that holds the ideology – “Get your guy.”
Now for the usual suspect as the number two cornerback, Kristian Fulton is tasked with being the replacement for Jalen Ramsey. While that’s a daunting task in its own right, AJ Bouye remains to follow the league’s top receivers, allowing Fulton to come into his own at a steady pace. Fulton is an excellent prospect who will benefit in a tremendous way by working with Bouye.
