Round 6, Pick 190: D.J. Wonnum, EDGE, South Carolina

We got to the later rounds quickly with San Francisco missing out on their day two picks. Back on the clock with their sixth-round selection, the Niners add some depth to the edge position with D.J. Wonnum from South Carolina.

Another project player, Wonnum had 14 sacks in his career and will work behind some talented players in San Francisco. However, there could be an opening for a reserve spot should they decide to trade Solomon Thomas, which is a possibility.

Round 7, Pick 194: David Reese, LB, Florida

A MIKE linebacker for the Gators, David Reese falls to the seventh-round due to his athletic limitations. He isn’t the fastest player but he understands the game and gives them a player who can fill in should there be any injuries to their key starters.

Reese got a lot of playing time at Florida and racked up 324 tackles, 19.5 of which went for a loss, in his four years there.

Round 7, Pick 222: Charlie Heck, OT, North Carolina

With Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey under contract, the 49ers don’t have much of a need at all at offensive tackle. Still, they use their final pick in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft on Charlie Heck, the right tackle from North Carolina.

HE won’t be expected to push anyone for snaps but this is a projection pick as John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan grab a kid with tremendous size (6-foot-8 and 315-pounds) that they could try and develop into a swing tackle.

Next. Terrell Burgess a necessary value in today’s NFL. dark

It won’t be a lock that he makes the 53-man roster but a year on the practice squad could prove to be a good thing for him as he learns the speed of the pro game.
