The Ravens need to re-tool on defense, so in this 2020 NFL Draft simulation they stay on brand by adding gritty players to their roster.

The Baltimore Ravens came so close to reaching the top of the mountain in their 2019 campaign, and now will look to the 2020 NFL Draft to fill the limited holes they have on their roster. With the league’s MVP in Lamar Jackson hitting his stride, an AFC North crown could be just the beginning for the Ravens.

After the trade of Marcus Peters last season, the Ravens solved their cornerback issue with the aging of Jimmy Smith. Peters and Humphries are both young and talented, setting the Ravens up for success into the distant future. In their secondary, however, the Ravens parted ways with veteran safety Tony Jefferson, opening a hole in the third level of their defense.

C.J. Mosley was a staple of the Ravens’ defense for years, before darting to the New York Jets on the richest deal a linebacker has ever seen. The linebacker position seems to be the most glaring need for the Ravens entering free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft, and one they should be able to get a young gun to step into the void.

Look for the Ravens to stay on brand in this year’s draft, and here is a seven round mock draft for the defending AFC North Champs.
