After a successful redshirt sophomore year with the Buckeyes, cornerback Shaun Wade is set to bolster his resume before the 2021 NFL Draft.

While the 2020 NFL Draft is still a little over a month and a half away, it is never too early to look ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft. The first scouting report of next year’s cycle by this writer is none other than Ohio State standout cornerback Shaun Wade.

Ohio State has a real claim to DBU, along with LSU, as the Buckeyes have produced top NFL talent over the past four years. In that time span, Eli Apple, Marshon Lattimore, Malik Hooker, Gareon Conley, and Denzel Ward have all been taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. This year, the Buckeyes could have two more taken in the top-32 as Jeffrey Okudah is a lock as the top cornerback in the class, and his counterpart Damon Arnette has been a hot riser as of late.

Had Wade declared for the draft this year, then Ohio State could have had three cornerbacks taken in that top-40 range after he put together a successful season playing in the nickel with Arnette and Okudah. He did, however, decide to go back to Ohio State and will use another year in Columbus, Ohio to attempt to raise his draft stock even more.

While Wade is not looking to turn pro for well over a year, we take a look towards the 2021 NFL Draft with a scouting report on the versatile Buckeye.
