The Lions have traded cornerback Darius Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are five prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft to replace Slay.

Since NFL free agency officially opened on Monday, it seems like there’s been an endless stream of big news. On Thursday, it was the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles making headlines, as the Lions sent All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay to the Eagles for third and fifth-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Detroit did sign former Atlanta Falcon Desmond Trufant, but his deal is only for two years, and is not a long-term solution. The Lions have quite a few holes on the roster, but cornerback was a big need even before moving Slay, so it is only larger now.

Fortunately, the team is in a good spot to address the cornerback position in the 2020 NFL Draft. There are some very good prospects available in the first three rounds who can come in and start right away opposite Trufant.

Owning the third overall pick, there is one cornerback who would be worth taking that high, and others who could be targets in a trade down from three, or a trade up from their second-round selection, 35th overall. Detroit will be taking a corner at some point, the question is when; here are five prospects the Lions could target in the 2020 NFL Draft to replace Darius Slay.
