If the Cleveland Browns want to hit some home runs in the 2020 NFL Draft, they may have to risk striking out.
The 2020 NFL Draft is set to kick off in about one month, and although the format may be different, the intrigue remains the same, especially for the Cleveland Browns. After what may very well have been the most disappointing season in franchise history, the team has brought in an entirely new regime, with new general manager Andrew Berry and new head coach Kevin Stefanski leading the way.
The Browns are still one of the most talented teams in the NFL, and have been able to add some very good players at positions of need in free agency, including Austin Hooper, Jack Conklin, and Karl Joseph. But there are still major holes on the roster, including left tackle, safety, and linebacker. They will need to be addressed in the Draft, with Cleveland unlikely to make any more major FA moves. No one should be advocating for the team to employ this strategy, but if the Browns did want to swing for the fences, there are plenty of prospects to do that with. Here is a boom or bust seven-round mock for Cleveland.
