One OT per first four rounds of 2020 NFL Draft for Browns to pursue
By Cory Kinnan
With the tenth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Browns will be in a great position to add one of the top four offensive tackles in this year’s draft class. Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs, Alabama’s Jedrick Wills, Georgia’s Andrew Thomas, and Louisville’s Mekhi Becton are considered the cream of the crop of this class, and one will likely be a Cleveland Brown.

The problem, however, is that only Thomas and Wirfs are scheme fits in Kevin Stefanski’s wide-zone oriented offense, meaning Jedrick Wills, and Mekhi Becton (no lateral movement testing numbers) are likely not a fit for the Browns. That leaves Wirfs and Thomas, and after his insane combine workout, there has been buzz about Wirfs landing with the Giants at the fourth overall pick in the draft.
The Browns need Andrew Thomas, a staple left tackle for the Bulldogs over the last three seasons, and the most technically refined tackle in the class. While Thomas may not have the ceiling of Wirfs, his floor is substantially higher, and he would immediately fit the need as a plug-and-play starting left tackle from day-one.
If Wirfs and Thomas are both off the board, however, we could see a trade down from the ten slot for Cleveland in the 2020 NFL Draft…
