Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson doesn’t get the hype of other LBs in this class, but may just be the best middle linebacker prospect in 2020 NFL Draft.
Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons is touted as a do-it-all Swiss army knife at linebacker and safety. Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray and LSU’s Patrick Queen are both excellent athletes who are likely to be first-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. But the best MIKE in this class may just be Wyoming’s Logan Wilson, a redshirt senior with good athleticism, instincts, and an all-around game that projects well to the next level. He may not be elite at any one thing, or be the most explosive athlete, but he was extremely productive in college, and was asked to do many different things for the Cowboys.
Wilson is currently projected to be a late second to early third-round pick, and whichever team selects him will be getting an instant starter who may not have the ceiling of other prospects, but whose floor appears to be quite high. Wilson should be able to start at MIKE or WILL, depending on what his new team needs. That versatility was useful in college and it will be useful in the NFL.
