Team Needs

Linebacker

The Carolina All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly suddenly retired this offseason that really shocked the entire NFL. Addressing that spot early in the NFL Draft will be key for the Carolina Panthers. It would not hurt the Panthers if they decided to take more than one linebacker in this draft. The top linebacker in this class, Isaiah could be there at seventh overall if the New York Giants do not select him.

Cornerback

Carolina’s number one cornerback tested free agency and got a four-year deal to go play for the New York Giants, James Bradberry. The other starting cornerback for the Panthers, Ross Cockrell is a free agent that has not signed with a team yet. The dream scenario for the Carolina Panthers would be if Simmons gets taken before them, they can swoop in and take the Ohio State product, Jeffrey Okudah.

Defensive Line

The Carolina Panthers lost both of their starting defensive tackles due to free agency, to the same team. Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe both decided to sign with the Carolina Panthers, Poe is only a one-year deal while McCoy is a three-year deal with the Cowboys. The Panthers need to get more than one prospect that could possibly fill that void Week 1 for them.
