Anfernee Jennings, EDGE, Alabama

The 49ers addressed the interior of the defensive line by drafting Kinlaw to fill the void left at that spot by the DeForest Buckner trade.

They could still benefit from selecting an edge rusher to alleviate some of the strain on Nick Bosa and Dee Ford and guard against an injury to the latter.

San Francisco’s pass rush was noticeably less potent when Ford was off the field last year, but Jennings would give the Niners another explosive threat off the edge.

Jennings possesses tremendous burst and has demonstrated the ability to win with intelligent hand usage and lateral quickness that allows him to work inside.

Coming off the best season of his collegiate career, posting eight sacks in 2019, Jennings would be an excellent addition to the defense as a situational pass rusher who can make plays dropping into coverage – he had 18 pass breakups in his time at Alabama.

The 49ers met with Jennings at the Senior Bowl, per Walter Football, and he is a prospect who could still be on the board on day three. Should he fall into the Niners’ grasp during the final day’s proceedings, they would have the chance to get a steal and further bolster one of the most fearsome pass rushes in the league.
