Scouting Report

While Terrance Mitchell has been wildly underrated during his time with the Browns, that does not make his spot on the roster bubble any less realistic and logical. Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are two young, press man cornerbacks who should flourish under Joe Woods, the Browns signed Kevin Johnson this offseason in free agency, then used a priority signing on undrafted free agent A.J. Green as well.

The Browns also signed raw, but tantalizing cornerback Donovan Olumba this offseason as well, and still have special teams ace Tavierre Thomas and 2019 seventh rounder Donnie Lewis Jr. as notable names in the cornerback room as well. Thomas is a borderline pro bowler on special teams, and moving him would be a surprise.

Lewis is easily movable after being stashed on the practice squad a year ago, but given the age difference, Mitchell could be the odd man out in Cleveland. Unless he proves he can thrive in the nickel, a spot he will compete with Kevin Johnson for, then the Browns could make him a cap casualty as they hope to rollover a massive amount of cap in order to pay both Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield within the next 12-15 months.
