3 2020 NFL Draft UDFAs with best chance to make Cowboys roster
By Cory Kinnan
Aaron Parker, WR, Rhode Island
Another wide receiver after landing CeeDee Lamb?
Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb make a solid trio of receivers in Dallas, but the depth on the Cowboys’ roster at the wide receiver position may have some room for turnover. Rhode Island wide receiver Aaron Parker slipped all the way through the 2020 NFL Draft, but the Cowboys managed to snag him as an undrafted free agent.
While his athletic ability is nothing astounding, he was a productive receiver for Rhode Island with a big body. He posted historically poor explosiveness and speed at the Combine, but Parker has good size at 6-1 and 210 pounds after a solid career with the Rams.
He is coming off a career year in 2019 with 81 catches for 1,224 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He may have to thrive as a big slot at the next level due to his lack of athletic ability, but as the role of the slot is growing in importance, Parker could embrace that role in camp and prove his worth on the Dallas offense.
He’ll have to compete with the likes of Devin Smith, Noah Brown, Ventell Bryant, and Jon’Vea Johnson to land a spot on the final roster, and is one of three undrafted free agent receivers to fight in camp. However, given his production and size, Parker has a chance to surprise in training camp.
