Eagles: Examining role of first round WR Jalen Reagor in 2020
By Cory Kinnan
What will Jalen Reagor have to overcome with Eagles?
The biggest obstacle Jalen Reagor will have to overcome in his rookie season with the Eagles will be the transition from the collegiate game to the NFL. Given the lack of depth and talent at the wide receiver position in Philadelphia, Reagor has about as clear of a path to an immediate starting job of any rookie in the league.
This could put some pressure on Reagor to pick up the playbook at a quicker pace than most rookies would be obligated to if he wants to see a large lump-sum of touches early on in his career. However, a three-year starter at TCU, Reagor has shown the ability to learn on the fly once before; the NFL will require late nights and early mornings of him to do so once again.
One glaring weakness in his game at the college level was at times showing a lapse in concentration, resulting in a handful of drops. As he prepares to catch bullets from Carson Wentz, Reagor could benefit from spending time and energy on the JUGGS machine to improve his hand strength and concentration.
As mentioned, Reagor will be expected to contribute to a mangled wide receiver room right away in 2020, but what will his role look like?
