Jordyn Brooks to the Seattle Seahawks

It feels like the Seattle Seahawks have the chance to make this list every year, and now they have for the third year in a row. Someone tell John Schneider to protect the face of his franchise in Russell Wilson before it is too late.

Two years ago the Seahawks selected running back Rashaad Penny with their first round pick, who has been unable to beat out sixth round pick Chris Carson. Then just a year ago, they decided to select a two-down, run stopping defensive end in the first round in TCU’s L.J. Collier, who struggled to see the field at all as a rookie.

This year, opting to pass on getting Wilson some protection up front once again, Seattle decided to select Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks. While selecting a linebacker in round one is usually not good use of draft capital, there can be an argument made at the back of the round, however LSU’s Patrick Queen was still on the board as the Seahawks reached for Brooks.

Year after year, the offensive line failures doom the Seahawks, yet year after year they refuse to invest any sort of valuable capital into upgrading the trenches. Schneider better hope some of these first round picks pan out before he is out of a job.
