2020 NFL Draft: 3 day-three NFL rookies making a name for themselves
By Cory Kinnan
Isaiah Coulter, WR, Houston Texans
The Houston Texans love their speed at the wide receiver position.
After trading DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals, they went out and traded for Brandin Cooks to line up opposite of Will Fuller. With Kenny Stills already on the roster as well, they went out and got Rhode Island speedster Isaiah Coulter with their fifth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
After burning a 4.45 40 yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine at nearly 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Coulter became a valuable asset to many NFL teams, and it just so happened the Texans were rewarded with his services. Apparently Coulter is impressing with his speed at training camp as well.
Deshaun Watson has a ton of weapons to choose from now with Coulter added to the track team unit at the wide receiver position. Given the health of Fuller and Stills historically, Coulter could see a significant amount of reps for the Texans as early as this season as a rookie.
After racking up over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns on 72 catches in his Senior season at Rhode Island, Coulter looks to carry that success into the NFL as well as he has continued to receive the stamp of approval from the Texans.
