Duke vs. Notre Dame features a handful of 2021 NFL Draft prospects
Due to COVID-19 and the inability to create a schedule (at least a full one) the ACC and Notre Dame came to an agreement that would allow Notre Dame to join the ACC for this year alone and have the chance to compete and win an ACC Championship. As a result, the Fighting Irish will join the ACC this season, as Duke vs. Notre Dame is set to kick-off today.
In spite of not being in the same conference — Notre Dame was independent prior to joining the ACC for the year — the two schools have played each other twice since 2016, once in 2016 and another in 2019. This week’s game should be exciting, especially with these four prospects highlighting the match-up.
In the past Notre Dame has produced a world of NFL talent, especially along the offensive line, with the likes of Zack Martin, Ronnie Stanley, Mike McGlinchey, and Quenton Nelson. Just a year ago, prospects like Troy Pride Jr., Chase Claypool, and Julian Okwara heard their names called in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Duke, on the other hand, has not been a hot bed for NFL Draft prospects, but have seen some success of the past five years or so. The biggest among them has been New York Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones, who went sixth overall out of Duke a year ago.
