What can the New York Jets land beyond Trevor Lawrence?

The New York Jets are a dumpster fire as the midway point in the 2020 season nears.

The only winless team in the entire NFL, New York looks like they are ripe to push the reset button, blow up the roster, and build from the foundation up once again. As they have been gathering assets over the past two years with the trades of former foundational pieces such as Leonard Williams and Jamal Adams, the Jets have a nice nest egg of draft picks stockpiled for the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

As they are currently in line to land the top pick in the draft, the choice at the top is a rather obvious one as a generational talent at the quarterback position sits on the board. In this 2021 NFL Mock Draft for the Jets as they begin a new chapter in their franchise, what talent can they land with all of those draft picks? More importantly, what do they haul in after the blatantly obvious first overall pick in the draft?

Round 1, Pick 1: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Again, this pick is the most obvious selection for any team sitting atop the 2021 NFL Draft by the time April rolls around. Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is in Sharpie atop the draft, and looks to be the best prospect at the position since at least Andrew Luck in 2012, and maybe even before. As the Jets look for a culture reset, general manager Joe Douglas should be fired if he picks anyone else.

As Gase goes, so presumably will Darnold as the Jets are set to enter another rebuild in 2021. The 6-foot-6 and 220 pound phenom will be only the beginning of that shift in the Big Apple for the gang green. Who can they land around him with a plethora of draft picks in the upcoming affair this April?
