Who are Chiefs top targets in draft?

Target no. 1: Dyami Brown, WR, North Carolina

After Sammy Watkins departed in free agency and landed with the Baltimore Ravens, the Chiefs are in need of a new X wide receiver in their room to complement Tyreek Hill. After moving out of the first round in the deal for Brown, they will now look for mid-day two targets to meet their need.

North Carolina’s Dyami Brown can win both vertically and make plays after the catch, and looks to hear his name called within the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Chiefs may just be the ideal landing spot for the former Tar Heels’ wide receiver.

Target no. 2: Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa

From one Brown to another, Northern Iowa’s Spencer Brown could land with the Chiefs as they still need a right tackle. Sure, the Chiefs need help along the interior of their offensive line as well, tackle remains a bigger priority even after the Orlando Brown trade (too many Browns).

Spencer Brown is tall, strong, and one of the most athletic tackles to ever enter the pre-draft process. He dominated the FCS level, put together a strong week at the Reese’s Senior Bowl, then exploded at his pro day as the 6-foot-8 and 311-pound tackle landed with a Relative Athletic Score of 10 out of 10. Brown may likely go top-50, but if he slips into the laps of the Chiefs, they should turn the card in in a hurry.

Target no. 3: Ronnie Perkins, EDGE, Oklahoma

Kansas City traded Dee Ford to the San Francisco 49ers two years ago and landed Frank Clark. As it turns out, however, Clark has not played up to the tune of the massive contract he was then rewarded by Kansas City. Even further, the Chiefs do not have anyone to play opposite Clark in 2021. Oklahoma’s Ronnie Perkins is a fit to be the power rusher the Chiefs need.

While Perkins pulled up limp during his pro day, his film displays a violent defender with powerful hands. He can push offensive tackles back into the backfield and is one of the stronger run defenders in this edge rusher class as well.
