With the NFL Lockout going on for these past several months, I was reminded of the last work stoppage, the 1987 players’ strike and the replacement games that followed. It’s been 24 years. We’ve had labor “peace” for that long in the league, and this time at least we won’t have replacement games. It was a strange little experiment that lasted for only about one quarter of one season and still conjures up memories of a season that seemed like none other.
